Executive Leadership

Marty Lynch, Ph.D.

Marty Lynch is the Executive Director/CEO of LifeLong Medical Care. He has been the Director of LifeLong and the Over 60 Health Center since 1982, and a non-profit administrator for over 30 years. Dr. Lynch co-founded the Elderly Sub-committee of the National Association of Community Health Centers and is past Chair of the California Primary Care Association. He recently completed serving on the state task force to examine policy changes necessary for the integration of primary care and mental health services and to develop a California plan for Alzheimer’s disease.

Dr. Lynch received his Ph.D. in Social and Behavioral Sciences from the University of California, San Francisco and an MPA from the Kennedy School of Government at Harvard. In addition to health administration, Dr. Lynch is involved in public policy and research activities related to health access for the uninsured, long term care models, chronic care, and financing care for disabled populations. Dr. Lynch is also a Lecturer at the University of California, Berkeley.



Brenda Shipp

Brenda Shipp is the Chief Operating Officer (COO) of LifeLong Medical Care. She has worked with non-profit organizations for over 25 years. She has been the Director of the Over 60 Health Center before taking on her current role. Shipp is currently involved with the opening of a new school-based health center to provide access and care to at-risk youth in Oakland. She also co-authored two documents for the National Association of Community Health Centers(NACHC).



Barbara Towner, MD

Dr. Barbara Towner has served as LifeLong Medical Care’s Chief Medical Officer since 2005. Prior to this position, Dr. Towner was the Medical Director of LifeLong’s East Oakland Clinic since its inception in 1994. Dr. Towner attended medical school at the University of California, Davis School of Medicine and completed a residency program and internship at Highland Hospital. She has also practiced at Kaiser and Alta Bates facilities throughout the Bay Area.



Rick Clark

Rick Clark joined LifeLong in 2005 as CFO. He brings over 20 years of leadership experience in Finance and Accounting working in the health care industry. Previously, Mr. Clark was the chief financial officer at Kindred Healthcare Hospital in San Leandro. His experience also includes working at California College of Podiatric Medicine/Pacific Coast Hospital, Baycare Medical Group, IPA, as well as the Washington Hospital Healthcare System in Fremont.



Nance Rosencranz

Nance Rosencranz is the Director of Strategic Planning & Business Development at LifeLong Medical Care. Her work focuses on developing new strategic business ventures with nonprofit associations, foundations, and governmental agencies. She also provides planning and implementation leadership for capital projects. Since joining LifeLong Medical Care in 2006, Ms. Rosencranz has spearheaded consistent growth in grant support for LifeLong’s initiatives and ongoing operations. She has more than 25 years of strategic and business development experience.



Lucinda Bazile, MPH

Ms. Bazile is currently employed with LifeLong Medical Care as Policy and Special Projects Director. She is extremely dedicated and passionate about her work. Ms. Bazile made a career change from public accounting into public health because of her desire to work directly with the management of providing access to healthcare for underserved communities, particularly those of color. She has years of experience in operations and financial management, event planning, human resources, policy development and program planning.

The people who guide LifeLong Medical Care on its global mission to protect lives are diverse in background, yet unified in purpose - to ensure that all LifeLong patients receive a consistently high level of service and help. All board members of LifeLong Medical Care are volunteers. Whether from the emergency medical field, the business world, or the nonprofit arena, each embodies a total commitment to excellence, which is reflected in their actions on behalf of LifeLong.
