We are pleased to announce that seven nurse practitioners from the East Bay Consortium’s Advanced Practice Provider (APP) Fellowship have just graduated. The consortium is a partnership with LifeLong, La Clinica and UCSF-School of Nursing. The even better news is that six will continue working at LifeLong, while the seventh graduate has signed on with La Clinica.
“At the highest levels of leadership at LifeLong, we are so proud of this program and these graduates,” said Chief Medical Officer Dr. Michael Stacey. “This is really fulfilling our intention of training advanced providers, not just in community health, but to stay on and work at LifeLong.”
The APP Fellowship rigorous 12-month program is an integral part of LifeLong’s commitment as an education institution dedicated to training providers in community health. This program not only helps address the shortage of nurse practitioners and physician assistants in the medical community in general, but it also provides an important pipeline to filling critical positions at LifeLong.
The nurse practitioner graduates continuing their careers at LifeLong are Amy Mosley, Sonni Belcher, Guadalupe Paredes-Ramirez, Kaitlin Johnson, Marina Rosenberg, and Nermeen Rehimtoola. Lisa Magdeleno will continue working at La Clinica, where she did her fellowship training.
“This year’s cohort has been a true pleasure to work with,” said Shevaun Lewallen, who is Co-Program Director with Mariam Attawia. “They have integrated seamlessly into the Lifelong medical community and are staying on as providers in various positions throughout the organization. This is a testament to their hard work and strong commitment to the community we serve.”
The graduates received their certificates at a private dinner on September 27 attended by Co-Directors Mariam Attawia and Shevaun Lewallen, Program Manager Jacqueline Morales, and Clinic Leads Danielle Gordon, PA, Associate Medical Director at West Berkeley Health Center; Catherine Ring, NP, at Brookside San Pablo Health Center; Laila Tannura, NP, at West Berkeley, and Ken Marriner, MD at La Clinica.
