East Oakland medical provider will combine health care, dental facilities under one roof

A dedicated provider of health care to low-income residents and others in the Bay Area is working toward opening a new health center in East Oakland, a spokesperson for the provider said.

Lifelong Medical Care is merging two East Oakland health centers into the new facility planned for 10605 Foothill Blvd.

The new facility will offer parking, a wellness center, dental care and primary and behavioral health care in a new three-story, 26,274 square-foot building.

“The big kind of cool thing that we’re adding is dental services,” said Sylvia Hacaj, director of development and communications for Lifelong Medical Care.

Lifelong is merging the East Oakland Health Center at 10700 MacArthur Blvd. With the Howard Daniel pediatric practice at 9933 MacArthur Blvd. To form the new health center.

The new center will also offer primary and behavioral health care for children to seniors.

Hacaj said the new center will allow for “whole family care.” Families will be able to book a dental appointment, for example, before or after their child sees her primary care physician.

Lifelong officials estimate doctors and staff will serve more than 6,000 people each year at the new center.

Plans for the center are under review by the city of Oakland, which has not granted permits yet.
