Greatest Needs Fund

This fund enables LifeLong to respond to our communities’ most vital needs through specific programs and services. In fact, patient care services, health education, capital improvements, and critical equipment purchases have all been made possible through charitable gifts from our donors and supporters of the Greatest Needs Fund.

East Oakland Wellness Center

The East Oakland Wellness Center is a gathering place where people can get together to be healthy. LifeLong has created an environment where patients, staff, and community residents can meet their personal health and wellness goals. We partner with wellness-focused programs in the community who are experts in healthy lifestyle, and measure what works to continually improve our patients’ care. Your support enables LifeLong the opportunity to offer these programs to East Oakland residents.

Integrative Medicine Program

LifeLong Medical Care is now offering an Integrative Medicine Program at LifeLong’s East Oakland Health Center. We currently provide the following services: Homeopathic Clinic, Wellness and Behavioral Health Coaching; Integrated Primary Care Clinic (primary care referrals to homeopathic services); Homeopathic treatment assessment and evaluation. These services are offered in conjunction with other Wellness Center activities, such as acupuncture, osteopathic treatments, energy medicine, yoga, and Tai Chi. This program was originally offered as a pilot program and through demand has grown significantly. Your support will ensure we continue to grow the services and to multiple sites.

Victor Graham Memorial Fund

Olga Graham, a passionate supporter of seniors and LifeLong’s Over 60 Health Center, established the Graham Fund many years ago in memory of her husband, Victor. Mrs. Graham’s daughter, Dorothy, continues the Fund in her mother’s honor. By supporting this fund, “you can reach some of our most vulnerable seniors at risk of institutionalization. Even a small contribution can make a difference in a person’s life and most importantly, keep them in their homes. It’s gratifying to know my donations provide LifeLong staff with the tools to support people in need of critical services.” – Dorothy Graham

Reach Out and Read

Reach Out and Read is an evidence-based program that promotes early literacy and academic readiness. During well-child checks, providers work with parents to emphasize the importance of reading aloud, and supplement this education by giving the patient a total of 10 books over their first five years of life. From the age of 6 months to five years old, each child receives a new (age and language appropriate) book at each well-child visit. Reach Out and Read also creates a literacy rich environment in the clinic with volunteer reading programs and makes books accessible to older children. This varied approach helps build the strong fundamental language skills that are crucial to academic success.

Respite Care Fund

The Respite Care Fund provides home care services for LifeLong Medical Care’s frail and/or elderly patients in need, but it’s also designed to help the patient’s primary caregivers as well. If the family member(s) need respite, then these services can be applied to the Respite Care Fund. This fund enables the family to get much needed time to recharge and keep their loved one living at home.

Veggie Rx Fund

LifeLong William Jenkins Wellness Center's H'EAT (Healthy Cooking and Eating) Clinic, a weekly, family-centered, outdoor group which aims to improve childhood nutrition and fight chronic disease with food. Your dollars cover the cost of the fresh-picked, organic vegetables which are offered to each family and are grown by youth at UrbanTilth, a community farm in North Richmond.
