Although the government shutdown is over, we understand that many are still feeling the effects of delayed CalFresh (food stamp) benefits. To answer that need, the LifeLong Food Security Workgroup is launching a short-term non-perishable Food Donation Drive at Admin, 7th Street, and Pinole and Brookside San Pablo health centers.
LifeLong already offers Veggie Giveaways at William Jenkins, East Oakland, and Over 60 Health Centers and provides meals for unhoused patients through our partnership with EBCRP.
Your donation of non-perishable foods will add to our current food services and help our patients, community, and staff stay nourished and healthy during this time.
What you can donate:
Please bring items that are:
- Shelf-stable (long expiration date)
- Sealed or individually packaged
- Easy to prepare
Examples:
- Canned vegetables and fruit
- Canned soup, chili, beans, or stews
- Canned tuna or chicken
- Rice, pasta, or instant noodles
- Oatmeal, cereal, or granola bars
- Peanut butter or nut butter
- Shelf-stable milk or non-dairy milk
- Baby formula (sealed, unopened)
Please do not donate: expired food, opened packages, or items that need to be refrigerated or frozen.

If you or someone you know needs support, visit our Food and Community Resources webpage for information on where to find help. If your site would like a donation bin, please contact your site leadership. This effort aligns with the holiday season and will help ensure we have additional food available for our patients and staff as food comes in.
For questions, please contact Director of Nursing Tara O’Flaherty at toflaherty@lifelongmedical.org.
Thank you for everything you do for our patients and community.
